Reverb 10 – Day 14

December 14

Prompt: Appreciate. What’s the one thing you have come to appreciate most in the past year? How do you express gratitude for it?

Unlike some of the other posts I’ve done in this series, this answer came to me relatively easy. Almost as soon as I read the prompt, I had exactly what I wanted to say in my mind. I think that hands down this year, I have a newfound appreciation for true, honest, open, and fun friendships. I’ve had the absolute pleasure and honor of being in friendship circles with some amazing people. My circle here that I spend a majority of my time with has gone through some really high highs, and some really low lows, but I love each and every one of them dearly, even though I don’t tell them like I should. The way we all became a group deserves its own movie to say the least, but I’m so happy we did. They have been there for me in times where I didn’t know how to be there for myself, and we have shared a LOT of this past year with each other. Some of the best moments that I can recount in my mind includes one or all of them, and some of them were doing some really simple things like sleeping on the couch or watching football games after an epic breakfast. I appreciate just how transparent we can be with one another, and how we tend to tell each other the truth no matter how another person may feel about it. As with any group, there are some of us that are closer with each other than we are with other people in the group, but it’s still all love. There have been a couple of times this year where we’ve all been together, and I’ve truly felt in my soul that for that exact moment, everything was perfect. That’s how I feel about them as a whole and as individuals. Not only do I truly appreciate them as my friends, I appreciate all of my friends…for all of the conversations, for dealing with all of my ridiculousness ramblings, and for generally just being good people. I’ve got myself a group of fantastic people stretching from DC to Washington State to Canada and almost everywhere in between, and I’m so appreciative to have this great group of successful, awesome people around me. I’ve said for years now at the end of every year that I’m so happy to have such good friends…I truly believe that this year is the year that I have the best group of people around me for where I am now and for where I’m trying to go. I’m appreciative that they check me when I’m wrong, praise me when I’m right, talk me down off the edge of emotional cliffs when I get out of hand, and are still around through all of that to have fun with me, and to make my life a happy place to be. I’m so appreciative of my friends as people, and as my friends, and I love them to pieces!
